Nobody really knows when The Freelancers Alliance Syndicate was formed. It is believed to have been founded around 2948 SET, although this has not been confirmed. It is rumored that TFAS was created by the resulting fallout of another organization, but no facts can be found to support this theory. Only one thing can be agreed upon about TFAS. They are known to take any job for the right price, and are known to also take the most dangerous of jobs. Yet, no one has even the slightest idea how contracts are made with them. Their activities are shrouded in such obscurity that you only hear whispers and rumors of their exploits. TFAS members have allegedly been observed pulling mining jobs and hauling cargo, although this is speculated to be more related to internal logistical operations rather than contracted work.

The internal operations of TFAS are seemingly held in complete obscurity as no one knows how their hierarchy functions, or if they even have a rank-and-file structure. The name TFAS is spoken of with fear and awe, as no one really knows what their true goals are. One rumor that seems to be consistent is that they don’t have enemies for very long, as they seem to mysteriously disappear. There is even speculation that they took down another organization internally which also led to their rise in power, although everyone associated with that particular organization cannot be found for comment or confirmation. During the 9ine Tails uprising of 2952 in the Stanton system, suspected TFAS members have been reportedly seen pulling heavy operations. However, no one can really confirm who they were working for at that time.

It would seem that the TFAS organization has strong ties to the criminal underworld, yet even the outlaws deny any knowledge of them when asked. According to Advocacy Director Thomas Carmody, the rumors of the TFAS organization has been brought to his attention and they have been actively searching for any information regarding them. However, they have been unsuccessful in getting an Agent to infiltrate them, and their intelligence department have been unable to gather any evidence after 3 years of investigations. Director Thomas Carmody has made an official statement requesting any information that could potentially confirm their existence. To this day they have not been able to get a single piece of intelligence about them anywhere.
