The Freelancers Alliance Syndicate has always been an organization rather difficult to read. Clouding the lines between lawful and criminal has become a sort of art form for them. Little is actually known of their origin, but sources say they likely began in Spider or Pyro and their true size seems to be a mystery.

Rumors have long circulated that TFAS has ties to Nine Tails. It’s even been rumored that they are a division of them. Some even say Nine Tails was formed by previous TFAS members. It has also been speculated that the upper echelon of TFAS know the true identity of Ruto, and that he may even be a part of TFAS himself. No one knows for sure. The only thing we know for sure is the founders of TFAS seem to use Grim Hex as their base of operations for the time being, which adds to the suspicions, but as to why is again, purely speculation.

Members of TFAS have been observed bounty hunting and mining, along with helping Hurston security clear bunkers, and running legal trade routes while other members have been proven to frequent Kletcher, rarely working off or completing a lawful sentence, becoming experts in prison escape and special operations to retrieve their fugitive members successfully. And when these fugitives resurface without a CrimeStat, it’s safe to say they are very capable hackers as well. They are suspected in countless bunker raids. They have been implicated in heavy drug smuggling, ship thefts, and murders, none of which could be proven, along with a multitude of other nefarious acts that would a-line to the Nine Tails interests. One source admitted to seeing a small group of them at Grim Hex with a “pile of dead bodies” in their cargo hold. Unfortunately that source has come up missing and his eye witness account could not be verified.

One thing is for sure. An eye should be kept on this organization. Even their most lawful members, ones who seem to have never faced legal trouble a single day in their lives, refuse to shed light on the organization, it’s interests, operations, or anything of the sort. And with the Nine Tails falling silent recently…Everything should be considered.

The general consensus seems to be that the Freelancers Alliance Syndicate either has ties to Nine Tails, or have an incredible nack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. There’s an old saying, “There’s no such thing as coincidences” but in this case, only time will tell.
